The New York State Museum in Albany will open a new exhibit to celebrate the centennial of women’s suffrage in the state. New York granted women full voting rights in 1917, the only state in the Mid-Atlantic region to do so before the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution in 1920. Votes for Women: Celebrating New York’s Suffrage Centennial will open with a reception on November 4th and remain on view until May, 2018. Tickets to the opening reception can be purchased from the League of Women Voters of New York State’s website.
