Congratulations to Wendy Bellion, who has received the 2014 Charles C. Eldredge Prize from the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The Eldredge Prize recognizes outstanding scholarship in the field of American art and is accompanied by a $3,000 award. Bellion, who is associate professor of American art and material culture at the University of Delaware, was recognized for her recent book, Citizen Spectator,: Art, Illusion, and Visual Perception in Early National America (The University of North Carolina Press for the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture, 2011).
