The immediate past director of MARCH, Howard Gillette, has been featured prominently in the Philadelphia Inquirer for his research on the City of Camden and dedication to public history in the Mid-Atlantic region. The column by Kevin Riordan calls attention to the Miller Memorial Lecture on May 5, which drew more than 150 people to hear Gillette will speak on the topic “Between Justice and History.” This event also marked Gillette’s retirement from the faculty at Rutgers-Camden.
