Wallace J. Mlyniec, Lupo-Ricci Professor of Clinical Legal Studies at the Georgetown University Law Center, will discuss the communities and people who once lived in the old East End. Learn about the changing groups and evolving history of this neighborhood from Mlyniec, a neighbor, writer, and researcher of the history of the old East End.
The event will be held at the Lillian & Albert Small Jewish Museum on September 2, 2015.
Professor Mlyniec, who teaches juvenile justice, wrongful conviction, and children’s rights, has been involved with the Georgetown Law Center’s expansions since 1980. He blogs about the history of the neighborhood and has written a book, Construction Notes: Transforming a Campus in Washington D.C., detailing its changes. Mlyniec also keeps up-to-date and writes about the construction phases of the Capitol Crossing development, which will reknit our neighborhood and is on the site of the history he will recount.
