The New Jersey Association of Museums Offers Artifact Assessment Program

The New Jersey Association of Museums (NJAM) offers the Artifact Assessment Program (AAP). The AAP is a free service for non-profit history, museum, and science organizations in New Jersey that collect and care for artifacts.

Funded by the New Jersey Historical Commission and managed by NJAM, the program is designed to guide organizations on the best ways to care for collection material through a review and evaluation of the documentation, storage, and conditions of artifacts by a professional curator. Afterwards, the organization receives a detailed report that can be used to apply for grants and additional follow-up services.
