The New Century Trust Celebrates Women's History Month in Philadelphia

The New Century Trust, a “hidden treasure” women’s non-profit committed to women and girls since 1882, will host a series of special events celebrating Philadelphia women and Women’s History Month during March 2014. On March 6th, at 5:30pm, preview “The Women of Philadelphia,” a documentary told from a women’s point of view, highlighting the distinctive role of women in the history of Philadelphia and its current challenges and successes (by History Making Productions, Executive Producer, Sam Katz; Producer, Nancy Moses). Share the stories of women leaders and social, arts & cultural advocates through a series of women-led open houses, talks, and tours at NCT’s National Historic Landmark building (March 11, 18, 31; talks start at noon). The March 11th evening event features a screening of the documentary “Motherless” with award-winning filmmakers Barbara Attie and Janet Goldwater. The month will end on the 31st with a women’s arts and advocacy performance by dancers Magda San Millan and Chelsea Murphy. Doors open at 6:00pm. NCT offers a mix of free and paid events.
