Slavery's Slow Death in NJ

In honor of Black History Month, the National Park Service will welcome Dr. James Gigantino, an Assistant Professor of History and an allied faculty member in African and African American Studies at the University of Arkansas, to discuss his new book The Ragged Road to Abolition: Slavery and Freedom in New Jersey, 1775-1865.

Summer Fruits of the Humanities

Recent observances around the on-going 150th anniversary of the Civil War have highlighted the great popular interest in how war affected the lives of everyday people. New Jersey now has a window into everyday lives during the American Revolution, thanks to the good work of the Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area.
