The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture continues its Live from the Archive series on Wednesday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m., with Charles L. Blockson, creator of the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection at Temple University–one of the nation’s leading research facilities for the study of the history and culture of people of African descent. Blockson and Miranda Mims, an archivist at the Schomburg, will explore rare books, collecting, and Blockson’s connection to Arturo Schomburg, who founded the Schomburg Center.
Prior to the discussion, there will be a screening of Blockson’s award-winning documentary, Holding History: The Collections of Charles L. Blockson (trailer). For more information and registration, click here.
