Registration open for 4th Annual Public History Community Forum

The 4th Annual Public History Forum (PubComm) will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 12:30 to 5:30 pm at the Philadelphia History Museum.  Registration is free, and open to graduate students and emerging professionals.  Refreshments will be served.

The planning committee welcomes keynote speaker Bob Skiba, President of the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides, and a growing list of professionals for PubComm’s much-loved “public history speed dating” roundtables.  Roundtables will focus on such topics as exhibit design, development, and education and programming.

Confirmed professional panelists are:

– Annie Anderson, Historic Site Researcher at Eastern State Penitentiary

– Sophia Meyers, Collections Project Manager at the Delaware Museum of Art

– Mary Rizzo, Co-editor of The Public Historian

– Elizabeth Thompson, Development Associate at the Asian Arts Initiative

– Beth Van Why, Exhibit Operations Director at the National Constitution Center

Participants of PubComm 2014 are invited to register for a free guided tour of either the Christ Church and Burial Grounds or the National Constitution Center on the morning of April 26 before the conference.

  • Christ Church and Burial Grounds tour, 10:30 am-12:00 pm.  Meet at the Church entrance at 22 N. 2nd Street, Philadelphia. Please arrive  by 10:15 am.
  • The Constitution Center tour, 11:00 am- 12:00 pm.  Meet at the main entrance at 525 Arch Street, Philadelphia. Please arrive by 10:45 am.
