The Temple University Department of History, the American Philosophical Society, and the Temple University Alumni Association have announced a special reception and lecture in honor of Dr. Martin Levitt, librarian at the American Philosophical Society. Dr. Levitt earned his doctoral degree at Temple University in 1991, and has taught archival studies courses for Temple’s History program for many years. Dr. Morris J. Vogel, President of the Tenement Museum, will provide a lecture titled Privileging the Public in Public History.
The reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 12, at The American Philosophical Society Franklin Hall (427 Chestnut St. Philadelphia) The lecture by Dr. Vogel will begin at 6 p.m..
The organizers have requested that those interested in attending this event RSVP by December 9 through the American Philosophical Society website.
