For much of its two hundred-year history, the owners of Tudor Place have engaged in historic preservation. Through six generations of the Peter Family, which owned the home, to the foundation that operates it as a museum today, preserving this National Historic Landmark for future generations has been a primary focus.
For National Historic Preservation Month, a preservation workshop led by Tudor Place Facilities Manager Sam Young will explore preservation challenges that may confront owners of this or any historic home. In an informative discussion and tour of the 1816 house, he will illustrate some of these challenges, describe recent preservation projects, and demonstrate applicable preservation tools and techniques used at the site. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The program is free, but registration is required.
