Preservation New Jersey announced its annual list of the 10 most endangered sites last week in Trenton. The twentieth such list since 1995, calls attention to vulnerable “character-defining landmarks and historical resources throughout the state of New Jersey.” Generally, sites make the list because they are threatened by neglect or redevelopment plans.

Community of Fortescue in Downe Township, Cumberland County
Maplewood Post Office in Maplewood Township, Essex County
Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Union County, Hudson County
Giordano Diner in Lawrence Township, Mercer County
Trenton Savings Fund Society in Trenton, Mercer County
Suydam House in Piscataway Township, Middlesex County
Romer Shoal Light in Highlands Borough, Monmouth County
Horton Mansion in Newton, Sussex County
