The New York Academy of Medicine invites participants to #ColorOurCollections. The week-long campaign provides access to hundreds of pages of adult coloring books featuring peculiar and unique histories from international museums, archives, and libraries.

There are a number of Philadelphia-area collections featured in the campaign, including images from the Historical Medical Library of the College of Physicians, such as a U.S. Public Health Service “Syphilis Wrecks Marriage” announcement and a illustration of a crocodile skeleton.

Other organizations involved in the #ColorOurCollections campaign include Villanova University’s Digital Library, which provides sample advertisements and magazine covers from the early 20th-century, Drexel University’s College of Medicine archives, and coloring pages from the collections of the Library Company of Philadelphia, The Science History Institute, and the Delaware Museum of Natural History.

Participants are encouraged to share their creativity by posting their colored pages to social media with the hashtag #ColorOurCollections.
