The PHMC announced that James M. Vaughan has been appointed the agency’s new executive director. His tenure begins on November 28.
Vaughan most recently served as Vice President, Stewardship of Historic Sites for the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington, D.C. In his more than 30 years of experience, Vaughan led other historic organizations including The Hermitage, The San Diego Historical Society, The Hagley Museum & Library, and Strawberry Banke, Inc.
Vaughan succeeds Barbara Franco, who is leaving the commission after more than seven years of service.
