Oral History in the Mid-Atlantic Region to Host Free Virtual Workshop

Oral History in the Mid-Atlantic Region (OHMAR) will host a free Oral History Basics workshop, “A Collaborative Art: The Fundamentals of Oral History.” The workshop will take place on Thursday, December 1st, from 3:00 – 4:30 pm on Zoom and is cosponsored by the Monmouth University Department of History and Anthropology.

The workshop will be led by John Horan, an Oral Historian for the State Archives of North Carolina. He received his MA in History with a specialization in Museum Studies from Cleveland State University (CSU). Horan is also a Ph.D. candidate in Public History from Arizona State University (ASU).

The workshop offers experienced oral history practitioners the opportunity to refresh their techniques. For those exploring oral history for the first time, the workshop will give them ideas on where to start.
