It was announced earlier today that the New York State Museum, in Albany, New York, would be getting a $14 million facelift. The project will re-imagine exhibits with powerful technology, interactive displays, and a new form of narrative storytelling. The project is the biggest upgrade since the museum opened its doors in 1976.
The reconstructions will take about four years to complete and will add 35,000 square feet of newly created exhibitions to the museum. The new galleries will have specific themes, such as “A State of Change,” “Culture, Community, and Context,” and “New York in 100 Objects.” The New York State Museums aims to depict the rich history of the state and its inhabitants in regards to history, culture, population, and attitude.
