Joan Neuberger, featured speaker at Rutgers-Camden, September 30

The Humanities aren’t in crisis – it just takes students a few years out in the world to remember how much they enjoy things like literature and history. Joan Neuberger, distinguished historian of Russia at the University of Texas in Austin, serves as editor of Not Even Past (NEP), her History Department’s public history website designed to reach people who love history, to make professional historical research available and accessible to the public, and to promote the faculty and graduate students at UT. At Rutgers-Camden’s Multipurpose Room on Monday, September 30, at 7 p.m. Dr. Neuberger will speak about digital history and NEP, placing her work in the context of other online history sites, from the huge and academically oriented History News Network to the popular History subreddits on Reddit. This event is co-sponsored by MARCH. A reception will follow.
