In a press release, the New Jersey Council for the Humanities (NJCH) announced that five local organizations were accepted into the next cohort of their Community History Program. The new cohort includes Haddonfield Public Library, Indian American Club, Preserve Shady Rest Committee, Union Public Library, and Washington Township Public Library.
The organizations work closely with their communities to learn about and share untold stories. According to the NJCH, the organizations receive instruction on public history practices, develop collaborative projects, and receive $4,000 in funding from NJCH for their projects.
The Community History program began three years ago and has helped many New Jersey organizations “capture, preserve, and present untold stories of their communities.”
