New Jersey’s History Program is still in need of judges for 2019’s regional competitions. National History Day is a nation-wide competition where students from middle and high schools around the country compete to present the best history projects around a central theme. This year’s theme is Triumph & Tragedy in History. Students can enter a project in one of five categories: video documentaries, poster exhibits, written papers, live performances, or websites. These entries are ranked by volunteer judges to determine winners in each regional round, with the final round of top projects being presented at the National Contest in College Park, Maryland in June.
Judges are still needed for New Jersey History Day’s four contests this year! Judges are provided a free breakfast and lunch, and have the opportunity to learn from and give feedback to the next generation of historians.
This year’s contests for NJ History Day are as follows:
March 2: Rutgers University Camden
March 9: Kean University
March 23: Monmouth University
May 4 (state contest): William Paterson University
