NJ Historical Commission Holding Logo Design Contest

2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the United States. The New Jersey Historical Commission and Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area are holding a design contest for a signature logo to commemorate this anniversary.

The winning logo be used to promote events and projects connected to the 250th anniversary in New Jersey. Executive director of the New Jersey Historical Commission Sara Cureton said “Through this contest, we hope to find a logo that will engage new audiences in learning about the New Jersey’s diverse history and inspire broad participation from all state residents as we plan projects and programs commemorating 250 years of the United States.” The winning artist will be given a $1,500 prize for their design.

The logo contest kicks off the New Jersey Historical Commission and Crossroads of the American Revolution’s programming for the 250th anniversary. Legislation passed by the State Legislature in 2018 mandated that the Historical Commission commemorate the upcoming anniversary.

Artists must submit their designs for the logo contest by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019. The winning logo will be presented at Patriots Week in Trenton, New Jersey, on Saturday, December 28, 2019.
