Sandra Turner-Barnes has recently released two new books, “Beyond the Back of the Bus,” and “But, Mostly Love.” In the words of the author, “Beyond the Back of the Bus” is “an illustrated poetic tribute to Rosa Parks and the civil rights movement,” while “But, Mostly Love” is “a view of African American history through poetry and photography.”
“Beyond the Back of the Bus” was illustrated by Bernard Collins Jr., and published by Third World Press. “But, Mostly Love” was published by BTS Enterprises.

Dr. Diane Turner has also released two new books, a children’s book, “My Name is Oney Judge,” an illustrated historic depiction of George and Martha Washington’s house slave; and “Feeding the Soul—Black Music, Black Thought,” a book of historic essays and interviews. “My Name is Oney Judge” was illustrated by Cal Massey, and published by Third World Press. “Feeding the Soul” was also published by Third World Press.
