The New Netherland Institute (NNI) of Albany, New York has partnered with Cornell University Press to publish books on the history of colonial Dutch settlement in the state. NNI was founded in 1974 to translate and publish the New York State Library and State Archives’ collected documents related to the Dutch colony, which existed from 1614 until 1667 and at its peak spanned the Atlantic coast from Connecticut to Delaware. The collection is the world’s largest repository for New Netherlands documents.
The partnership will begin in Spring 2018 and seeks to identify, develop, and finance the works collaboratively. See the New York History Blog for more details on the project.
