The New Jersey Council for the Humanities has announced its 2011 award winners. Retiring NJCH Executive Director Jane Brailove Rutkoff is recognized for her exceptional contributions to the public humanities in New Jersey. Kwame Anthony Appiah, the Laurance S. Rockefeller University Professor of Philosophy at Princeton University will receive the NJCH Book Award for his book, The Honor Code. Ellen Cahill, a kindergarten teacher at Bradford School in Montclair has been named Teacher of the Year for her interdisciplinary approach to education. The recipients will be honored on October 26, 2011 at the Montclair Art Museum. The event begins at 5:30 and will feature “The Life of Honor,”a talk by Kwame Anthony Appiah.
