Mellon Foundation Renews New York Humanities Grant

The New York-based Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has renewed its support for the Public Humanities Fellowships administrated by Humanities New York. The $600,000 grant will allow students from nine partner universities in New York State to develop public humanities projects. Since its inception in 2013, over sixty fellowships have been awarded by the organization. A cohort of 18 students is chosen each year. The projects are typically executed with the support of both Humanities New York and another community partner. The 2017-18 cohort’s projects examine race, LGBT issues, environmental justice, immigration, and other current issues in New York and the nation.
