Exhibit: Made in New Jersey: A Collection of Decorative and Fine Arts

Macculloch Hall Historical Museum has unveiled a new exhibit in honor of the 350th New Jersey Anniversary.  “Made in New Jersey: A Collection of Decorative and Fine Arts” displays items from the museum’s collection of New Jersey stoneware by makers such as Noah Furman and Charles Wingender, pieces by silversmiths Cary Dunn and Aaron Lane,  and works of artists such as Thomas Nast, A.B. Frost, and Edward Kranich.

A series of special programs will accompany the exhibit, on the second Sunday of each month through June.  The series begins on March 9th, when the museum welcomes Michael Aaron Rockland to discuss “350 Years of New Jersey History.”

On April 13, Linda Barth will discuss her new book “A History of Inventing in New Jersey: From Thomas Edison to the Ice Cream Cone”.  On May 11th, Joseph Bilby, co-author of Hidden History of New Jersey – A book of NJ Stories will present.

The series concludes on June 8th, with Bonnie Nadzeika and her presentation “Greetings from the Past” based on her 2012 book Morristown.  

Tickets for Sunday programs are on sale from 1 – 4:30pm on the day of the program, no advance sales are available. Speaker tickets, which includes admission to period room tours for visitors who sign up during the afternoon are: Adults $8; Seniors & Students $6; Children 6 – 12 $4.
