Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, located in Morristown, N.J., has appointed Patricia Pongracz as its new Executive Director.
Macculloch Hall, a Federal style mansion built in 1810, houses ten period rooms and three exhibition galleries that change throughout the year. The museum hosts collections of furniture, porcelain, artifacts connected to the presidency of the United States, and old-fashioned carpets. In addition to those collections, the museum also possesses the nation’s largest collection of original art by political cartoonist Thomas Nast.
Pongracz began her new position at Macculloch following a year-long fellowship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Until 2013, she worked as a curator at the Museum of Biblical Art in New York City, which recently closed. The American Bible Society, which owned the building where the museum was located, is preparing a headquarters move to Philadelphia in the coming months.
