The New Jersey Council for the Humanities will be holding its first Community History Showcase on October 27 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
The Community History Showcase is an online event intended to help New Jersey residents learn more about NJCH’s Community History program. The program allows participants to learn about public history practice and develop projects collaboratively. Each participant receives funding from NJCH to realize their project. The program is particularly aimed at organizations that are interested in doing public history with their community but do not have a historian on their staff.
The showcase will feature the Community History 2021 cohort’s projects, and involved interactive conversations centered on three themes: storytelling, memorialization, and place. Each conversation will be lead by a representatives from cohort 21’s projects.
The showcase is free to attend, and registration is required. You can learn more about the Community History Showcase here.
