Grants Available for New York State Local Legend Historical Markers

The goal of the initiative is to promote cultural tourism and to commemorate local legends in the state of New York. Grants will cover the total cost of the marker.

The New York Folklore Society and the William G. Pomeroy Foundation are offering grant funds to organizations to create historical markers for sites of “folk history.”  The goal of the initiative is to promote cultural tourism and to commemorate local legends in the state of New York. Grants are available for 501(c)(3) organizations within the state and will cover the total cost of the marker. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, October 31.
