On November 29, Governor Murphy announced that a $25 million investment will be put towards New Jersey’s Revolutionary War historic sites in anticipation of the United States Semiquincentennial anniversary in 2026.
The $25 million investment from federal American Rescue Plan funds will be issued to the New Jersey Department of the Treasury and distributed to Revolution NJ, in partnership with the New Jersey Historical Commission and Crossroads of the American Revolution, to assist in the restoration of the following sites:
New Jersey is a crossroads to the American Revolution, and its contributions to American independence are undeniable. Home to battlefields where the tide of the war shifted, and key political figures that helped guide citizens towards independence, the fact that New Jersey received funding through the American Rescue Plan proves that it needs to tell its history.
