The Harrison Township Historical Society’s new exhibition, “Eyewitnesses,” gives objects from the Museum’s rich collections a voice to tell their stories. Through an on-line, interactive audio soundtrack sixteen artifacts lead visitors through an entertaining exploration of the past, from 70 million years ago to the 21st century.
The narratives cover a variety of topics – a local apple tree that changed the apple industry around the world, war heroes, women’s suffrage, a notorious local business, airborne asparagus, Abraham Lincoln’s inauguration, immigration, and extinct sea creatures. Visitors are invited to vote for their favorite story either on-line or in person in the gallery.
Old Town Hall is located at 62 South Main St. in the heart of Mullica Hill’s National Register Historic District. The Museum is open Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4 pm through May 17 (closed Mother’s Day) and admission is free.
