Columbia County Historical Society Exhibit Showcases Local Lives During WWI

The exhibit, entitled Supreme Sacrifice: Columbia County in World War I, will explore the way World War I affected the lives of the local community both at home and on the war front.

The Columbia County Historical Society in Kinderhook, New York will open a new exhibit on Saturday, October 21. The exhibit, entitled Supreme Sacrifice: Columbia County in World War I, will explore the way World War I affected the lives of the local community both at home and on the war front. Over eight thousand Columbia County residents registered to aid in the war effort in some capacity. Materials come from the private collections of local families and include displays on the first local soldier killed in action, Italian immigrants, and African American residents of Kinderhook.
