On Saturdays this summer, a free shuttle will take visitors to three Civil War exhibitions across Washington, D.C.: The museum’s The Civil War and the Making of Modern Washington and two exhibitions at the Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum. This experience is made possible by a collaboration with the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum.
The tour experience will last three hours and will follow the succeeding itinerary:
- 2:30 PM: Highlights tour of The Civil War and the Making of Modern Washington at the George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum
- 3:30 PM: Free shuttle to the Anacostia Community Museum
- 4:30 PM: Highlights tour of How the Civil War Changed Washington andHands of Freedom: The Life and Legacy of the Plummer Family at the Anacostia Community Museum
- 5:30 PM: Free return shuttle to the George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum
