From the Association for Living History, Farm, and Agricultural Museums:
Living Well Within Our Means
Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference
March 28-29, 2014
Hosted by the Peter Wentz Farmstead
(Worcester, PA)
When the going gets tough, we get creative!
Many sites have worked very hard to keep their doors open while continuing to offer engaging programs and exhibits to our visitors. Have you collaborated with another organization in your community? Does your staff assist smaller sites by consulting on some basic aspects of a larger project? Have you increased your outreach program offerings to local schools? Do you borrow animals to showcase their particular use for a specially-themed event? Are you working as a consultant/contractor to assist smaller organizations with their tours, collections care, or other day-to-day work? These and other topics are encouraged for proposals, so give it some thought, chat with colleagues about your idea, and then send in your proposal form.
The Mid-Atlantic region of the Association for Living History, Farm and Agricultural Museums is requesting proposals for hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and presentations. Take this opportunity to share lessons you have learned over the years about succeeding “in the field.”
Hands-on workshops will take place on Friday, 28 March at various sites near to the Farmstead.
Formal presentations will be offered on Saturday, 29 March at Montgomery County Community College,
Located at 340 DeKalb Pike in Blue Bell, just a short 10-minute drive from the Farmstead.
Proposals are due by December 10th 2013 to:
