New Brooklyn Museum Exhibit Honors David Bowie

The Brooklyn Museum will open a new exhibit on the life of musician David Bowie. Organized by the Victoria & Albert museum of London, David Bowie Is will feature 400 personal items, including sixty costumes, hand-written lyrics, and the artist’s oil paintings. Video installations will highlight Bowie’s music videos and television appearances, and a custom soundtrack was created for the exhibit by long-term collaborator Tony Visconti. It will open March 2 in the Morris A. and Meyer Shapiro Wing and will remain on display until July 15, 2018. Advance ticket purchases are strongly recommended.
