Beyond Butter Churn History – New Interpretations at the Whitall House

Jennifer Janofsky, curator at the Whitall House at Red Bank Battlefield, is featured on Philly.com for her efforts to reinterpret the history of this more than two century old historic plantation. Moving beyond “butter churn history,” Janofsky, with the help of interns from Rowan University, is digging into historical research to bring to light new stories, like that of an Irish domestic servant who worked in the home. Thanks to the 1772 Foundation and through MARCH’s Public History Boot Camp, two public history consultants have been helping Janofsky in planning these efforts. Read more here.
