AASLH 2022 Annual Conference

The American Association for State and Local History will host its 2022 Annual Conference: Right Here, Right Now: The Power of Place. The conference will be held in person from September 14 – 17 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo / Hotel and Conference Center in Buffalo, New York, and online from November 1 – 4.

AASLH’s theme, “Right Here, Right Now: The Power of Place,” was drawn from “Power of Place,” one of the five themes that AASLH identified for the 250th anniversary of the United States and laid out in its Making History at 250: The Field Guide for the Semiquincentennial. The Conference presentations will reflect on the spaces we occupy and the stories they tell. Places offer powerful lenses that allows us to view the past and challenge us to think beyond modern cityscapes to consider the full history of the space we now call the United States.
