The Jewish Museum of Maryland is saying goodbye to executive director Avi Decter after more than thirteen years. Decter arrived in Baltimore in 1982 to join Bob Weinberg in planning the JMM’s facility and future public and educational programs. He returned in 1998 to in his words, “‘mind the shop’ for a few months.” Decter “fell in love with the Museum” and a few months turned into thirteen years.

The Museum has appointed Marvin Pinkert as its incoming executive director. Prior to this appointment, Pinkert served as the Director of the National Archives Experience in Washington D.C.
